Mass Effect 2 DLC Network Explained
With Mass Effect 2 mere hours from release, BioWare co-founder and vice president Greg Zeschuk broke down how the game’s content distribution network will function.
Named the Cerberus Network, this in-game portal both grants players access to downloadable content and provides information about future updates. As with the Stone Prisoner content for Dragon Age: Origins, this portal is freely provided to players who purchase their game firsthand; owners of used copies may pay $15 to access the Network.
Zeschuk confirmed that while content will be free for those who have access to the Network, players may opt to pay directly for DLC. Launch day content includes a set of armor, a gun, and a side mission featuring an extra character.
Mass Effect 2 launches tomorrow.
